Illegal work of foreigners in Russia

If a Russian entity allows foreigners to work without required documents, this violates migration law. And the fine is imposed to the employer for EACH non-citizen. Even if these violations are found during one check.

In most regions of Russia, a fine is imposed in the amount of:

• 25,000 - 50,000 rubles on the officer,
• 250,000 - 800,000 on the company or individual entrepreneur,
• 2,000 - 5,000 on the foreign worker.

In Moscow, St. Petersburg, in the Moscow or Leningrad region, the fines are more serous:

• 35,000 - 70,000 on the officer,
• 400,000 - 1,000,000 on the company / individual entrepreneur,
• 5,000 - 7,000 on the foreigner.

The punishment is administered, for example,

- when a foreign worker does not have a patent or work permission;
- if there are differences in the position in the patent and in the employment papers;
- when the patent was issued by another subject of Russia (not where the foreigner was employed);
- If the employer did not provide the Ministry of Internal Affairs with all required documents timely;
- when the worker is even not allowed to stay in Russia.

Remember: a non-citizen who has two fines can be deported from the country.

If you suspect your employer breaks the labor law, feel free to contact a lawyer to protect your rights.
